Rod Richardson is entering his sixth season with Risin Baseball. Coach Richardson has previous head coaching stints at Putnam City North High School, Moore High School, and Dewey High School. Over eight seasons as a head coach, Coach Richardson has averaged over 20 wins a year while taking three teams to the state tournament in five seasons at Putnam City North. Coach Richardson also led Moore High School to its best-ever district record since the inception of the district system. Over his eight seasons as a head coach, Coach Richardson has had numerous players play at the collegiate level, with five receiving division I scholarships to play at Power Five colleges. Coach Richardson has also had two players selected in the Major League Baseball Draft.

Coach Richardson played collegiately at the University of Central Oklahoma where he was a four-year starter as a catcher. During his college career, Coach Richardson was a two-time All-Conference selection and an Academic All-American while playing at UCO. Coach Richardson is possibly the only coach in the history of state of Oklahoma to serve both as a head baseball coach and head football coach at the 6A level.
